ART JAM 2025 WOOD SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM
1. The Art Jam wood sculpture symposium is organized by the association: "Art Jam" in Højer, 6280, Denmark.
2. Each sculptor will be provided with an oak trunk of approximately 180 cm x 60 cm Ø. Out of this oak trunk the sculptor is expected to create an artwork similar to the application sketch selected by the organization. The sculpture is created by one artist only. It is allowed to use other materials, brought to the site by the sculptor him/herself. The artist cannot expect any help from the organizers to find or to fabricate these other materials.
3. Each participating artist will be provided with an electrical chainsaw. The artists must bring any other tools needed to create his/her sculpture. The electricity supply (220 volt) and shelter will be provided by the organization. Work is done with power tools. Only exceptionally, and with permission from the organization, gasoline chain saws may be used.
4. Working location of each artist, as well as which oak trunk he or she will use, is decided by the organization. It is not allowed to move the oak trunk from the allocated place.
5. Each participating artist works outside at his/her own risk. The working hours are from 08.00 to 17.00. The artist MUST be present at the working place from 09.00 to 17.00 every day, unless otherwise agreed with the organization.
6. The use of chainsaws and other noisy machines allowed between 09.00 - 12.00 and 13.00 - 17.00, unless otherwise agreed with the organization.
7. The sculptures created at "Art Jam" in Højer belong to the organization and can be given away or sold.
Each participating artist will be paid an amount of € 900 at the end of the symposium.
8. The artists are obliged to take part in planned social events and are are obliged to be available for photographing at the sculptures and during events without payment. The right to all material, including but not limited to, records, films or photographs (including internet) for commercial purpose is reserved for the association: "Art Jam”.
9. The association: "Art Jam” will invite the number of artists fitting for the profile of Art Jam 2025.
10. In case the artist wants to change his/her project of the artwork after the selection of the project this needs to be approved by the organization.
11. The Art Jam wood sculpture symposium will open Saturday 7th June 2025 at 14.00 o'clock and close Saturday 14th June 2025 at 14.00 o'clock.
The artist is expected to be present at the opening and closing of the symposium and to leave no earlier than 14th June at 15.30. Free board and lodging for the participating artists will be provided by the organization from the 6th of June until 15th of June.. Personal extras, telephone, extra drinks etc. will be at the participating artist´s own expense.
NB! If the artist arrives later or leaves earlier than the program of the Art Jam, € 100,- will be deducted per missing day
12. Selected artists will be notified directly with travel instructions. The organization is helpful in planning transport if necessary. The organization picks up and brings the artists to public transport by arrangement.
13. Please inform us of the names of any people who may accompany you, (on a limited scale there will be accommodations for companions). The companion(s) will have to pay for his/her own board and lodging.
Adults: Price for board and lodging, € 340,-.
Children: Price for board and lodging, € 200,-.
