Project "Lullaby" - 17000 DKK
The entire piece doesn't attempt to tell a complete story, but rather lingers in a moment before or after the fairy tale unfolds—a quiet, conflict-free, and unexplainable instant.
A rabbit musician plays a lullaby. As a common image in fairy tales, it symbolizes sensitivity, innocence, and inner softness; it's the "entrance" to a world of fantasy.
The music here is silent, slowing down time and gradually calming the viewer's gaze and emotions. The relaxed, slightly clumsy posture, bearing the marks of the wood's raw cutting, deliberately retains the roughness of handcrafting, emphasizing the unadorned authenticity, much like the fairy tale world that doesn't strive for refined logic.
The natural grain and cross-section of the wood are considered part of the work; they are both the material's memory and the traces of time, echoing the "unpolluted nature" in fairy tales. The restrained and gentle touches of color, like faded illustrations in memory, evoke a distant yet intimate sense of tranquility. The hope is to convey a feeling in this work: the world does not need to rush, and individuals can reconcile with their inner selves and sit peacefully in time.
