"Rán" is the name of the sea goddess in the Nordic mythology. She drags down unfortunate sailors with her fishing net and lets them drown. The symbolism is a metaphor for the climate crisis; we will be caught by Rán in her net and drawn to infinite depths, if we cease to respect the power and function of the seas."Rán" was made especially for Højer. It is made of steel from ships that have suffered damage at sea. The work symbolizes the unspeakable beauty of the sea, but also its unpredictability.
